Once I got it home. I took it out to the box and separated all the parts. Just make sure you don't tighten the nuts until you have installed all of them. All the holes line up this way. The only thing I would say is make sure you don't have to move it very far. I had one wheel come off. Other than that it was a snap to assemble. 30 Minutes for me.

My sons bought this smoker for me as a gift. Assembly is not real complicated, if you take your time and follow the instructions. I have used it several times and love it! Lots of room for cooking fairly large cuts of meat. I don't have the problem that some do, with smoke leaking around the lid. I probably will replace the temperature gauge.....the gauge that comes with it just gives a range....it seems to be somewhat accurate, but I think an actual thermometer would be better. Overall, it is a pretty well built unit that should please the average user.....it may not be suitable for competitions, but the "weekend warriors" should love it.

Not Bad/ Not Great, 04/21/2009
For the price this is a good unit. I do have a few things that I think should be mentioned. When I received it, it was missing the manual, and other parts like the main grill and axle. It took a week for them to call me back to find out what was missing and two more weeks to receive them. Since this is two half barrels, the smoker leaks smoke all the way around it. There is no seal, so lots of smoke everywhere and heat loss. The thermometer doesn't show temperature, but rather a desired range. In the accessory catalog it mentions an upgrade. I assume that has the actual temp on it. The first time I fired it up it burned paint off it all over and reeked. After one cooking, it no longer has paint on the firebox and the top of the smoker. I think once the parts got here and I break it in more and I buy the better temp gauge, it will be a decent unit.

Great product. Excellent for home use. Easy to follow instructions. Do not tighten screws (as stated in instructions) until instructed to. Well worth the investment. Not many smokers with fire box on side available for a decent price. Get one for yourself or a gift. Box does weigh 100lbs. I put together in garage with my tools. Nice to have drill to tighten screws.

Waste of time, 09/24/2009
After putting the grill together I was amazed at its size and appearance. The first time I used it, however, none of that mattered because the smell of the paint burning off and falling onto my deck pretty much ruined the illusion. Now I have a rust coated ashtray sitting on my deck. I guess I should have purchased the grill cover to use it as a body bag for this lame duck.

i bought my grill around end of june and use it alot i have smoked 50lbs of boston butt did great held the temp right at 275 the whole time. only thing that needs a better thinking process on the engineers part is the paint on the heat box peals off once realy hot. but the overall cooking and durability is great i will be smoking some more butts this weekend. great product
